So I know some of you saw Landon Donovan at the top of his game last night by notching an assist and winning a penalty for the Toffees, but USA fans have another thing to cheer about. In exactly four months the England - United States matchup will be kicking off in Rustenburg.
Landon, who has been playing as a winger for Everton and the US, (accidentally) took out the man who he would be attacking down the flank this summer in South Africa: Ashley Cole.
The Guardian has reported that Ashley Cole, who was in the form of his life, will be out for “approximately three months” after suffering a fractured left ankle in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat at Goodison Park.
The injury will jeopardise Cole’s chances of going to the World Cup in South Africa with England. A lay-off of three months would see him return to actions in mid-May.The Guardian also pointed out:
Wayne Bridge of Manchester City and Stephen Warnock of Aston Villa are next in line for England at left-back.Uh oh. Wayne Bridge starting next to John Terry? That will surely bring nothing but chaos. Landy, it looks like the score so far is United States 1 - 0 England.
Your thoughts on this recent development?
USA!! USA!! USA!!

BEST. COMMERCIAL. EVER.
“Credit Maradona for switching things up. Forget the monotonous routines of passing drills, set-piece simulations and lots of brisk jogging… he prefers the high school humiliation method. After a practice game, Diego added his touch to the proceedings, allowing the winners to kick balls at the losers’ asses as they ducked and cowered in the net. I’m sure it’s great for team bonding and mirth and all… just imagine if Messi or Higuain had suffered an injury amid the mayhem.”
